Hyacinth Lamps

The Hyacinth Lamps are chic new additions to the BeeLine Collection set to debut at the New York Gift Show this weekend.

Based on a pair of goatskin Jansen lamps I picked up in Europe years ago, these lamps have a unique obelisk shape. I have updated them by finishing them in faux shagreen patterned wood with round feet. They are available in a subtle lavender color with nickel hardware or parchment color with brass hardware. Their tall and narrow shape makes them the perfect lamps to go as a pair on a console table.

I can’t wait to use them in my own design work!

Happy New Year

Have you seen the movie The Blind Side? Because of all of the hype the movie has received, (and I was told that Sandra Bullock, who plays real-life interior designer Leigh Anne Tuohy, mentions my name in the movie), I was eager to see it. John and I went last week, and I can’t stop talking about what a special film it is. I really found it so moving. There are so many kids that need a chance to get ahead in life. We are so lucky to have what we have, and as we contemplate what’s to come in 2010, I think we all should make a resolution to see what we can do for others – adopt a dog from the Humane Society or give money to Prep for Prep, for example. Think what we can do to make someone else’s situation better and everyone benefits.
